Our foreign language volunteers and student volunteers will introduce Japanese culture
such as origami, tea and more to international tourists and other visitors.
All experiences are free of charge. Please come join us!

おりがみ Origami
「たたみ」と「こたつ」と「昔のあそび」
Japanese Traditional corner
Tatami , Kotatsu (wooden table covered by a futon) & Japanese traditional toys
「こたつ」と呼ばれる毛布つきの暖かいテーブルで暖まりませんか？昔の日本のアニメを流したり、カルタやコマなどの昔の日本の遊びも用意しています。
Why don’t you warm yourself in a table with a blanket called “kotatsu”? You can also enjoy watching old Japanese animated cartoons
and playing old Japanese toys such as karuta (Japanese traditional playing cards), koma (a Japanese traditional spinning top) and so on.
うちかけUchikake Kimono
日本の女性の着物（和服）の一つで、結婚式では花嫁が着ます。
はおって写真を撮ることができます。
Uchikake is a type of Japanese women’s kimono and is for a bride to wear at
the occasion of a wedding. You can wear Uchikake and take a picture.
ひなにんぎょう Japanese Hina Dolls
ひなまつりは、日本で3月3日に行う女の子が元気に成長できるよう願いを込めたお祭りです。
ひな人形を飾り、桃の花を飾って、お寿司や、「ひなあられ」というお米のお菓子を食べます。
Hina matsuri is celebrated in Japan on March 3rd. It is a festival to wish girls a healthy growth.
On the festival, Hina dolls (a set of dolls with “Obina (emperor)”and “Mebina (empress) on the top tier”)
and peach flowers are displayed, and people have sushi and “Hina arare (rice cracker)”to celebrate.
あたたかいお茶を飲むことができます。
We serve Japanese hot green tea.

ロリータファッション Lolita Fashion 11:00～13：00
ロリータファッションは、単なるコスプレや趣味ではなく、
自分の生き方を表現するためのクリエイティブな日本発のファッションです！
現在は日本だけではなく、世界各国で注目を集めています。
Lolita fashion is not only as a cosplay or hobby
but also as a sort of creative fashion to express ourselves
which is originated from Japan! Today,
it attracts a lot of attention from people around the world as well as Japanese.

鳥獣戯画を描いてみよう Japanese drawing 13:00～16：00
鳥獣戯画（ちょう・じゅう・ぎ・が）は京都市の高山寺に伝わる墨画の絵巻物で国宝です。
特にウサギ・カエル・サルなどが擬人化して描かれているところが有名です。
12世紀 - 13世紀に描かれたことにより「日本最古の漫画」とも称されています。
筆ペンを使って一緒に描いてみませんか？
Choju-giga (Animal Caricatures) is a scroll painting in ink,
which is a national treasure belonging to Kozan-ji, Kyoto.
Especially, it is famous for the anthropomorphically described animals including rabbits, frogs and monkeys.
It is also called “the Japanese oldest manga” since it was drawn from the 12nd to 13rd century.
Would you like to try drawing one with a calligraphy pen?
日本舞踊 Japanese Traditional dance 14:00～14：45
詩吟 Poetry Reading (Shigin) 15:00～15:30
詩を独特のリズムで、歌うように読みます。日本の伝統文化です。
Shigin is an art of reciting poems with a unique rhythm. This is one of Japanese traditional cultures.

鳥獣戯画を描いてみよう Japanese drawing 13:00～16：00
江戸芸かっぽれ Kappore dance 14:00～14：30
かっぽれは曲にあわせて楽しく、おもしろく動く踊りです。明治時代から人気が高まりました。
Kappore is a comic dance with music. It became popular from the Meiji period.
英語落語 Rakugo comedy in English 15:00～16：00
江戸時代から続く話芸です。 ひとりで何役も演じ、身ぶり・手ぶりで物語をおもしろく話します。
Rakugo is an art of storytelling which was created in the Edo period.
One performer plays all of the roles in the play and entertains the audience by talking with gestures.

当日昼12時から申し込みを開始します。外国人のみ。
先着順。（電話、メールでの受付はしません。）
3つに分かれた特別な着物を使って、簡単に着ます。
首まわりが大きく開いたＴシャツや、レギンス、タイツなどを着てきてください。

1:00 p.m.〜 six for women
2:00 p.m.〜 six for men
3:00 p.m.〜 six for women
＊Applications will be accepted from noon on the day of the event.
Only for foreign nationals. First-come, first-served basis.
＊This special kimono is separated into 3 parts so you can try it on easily.
＊Please come wearing a scoop neck t-shirt, leggings, tights, etc.
