You will be notified in writing of the name, address and phone number of the host family. Upon receiving that information, be sure to call the host family promptly to confirm the transportation and the date of visit. It is recommended that you send a letter of self-introduction to the host family.

Reconfirm the transportation to the host family. Reserve a train seat, if necessary. (Transportation expenses should be paid by the student.)

Call the host family again for final confirmation of details (where to call in case of emergency, etc.). Also reconfirm the time and place of meeting, if the host family is supposed to come to meet you. jyosei.gif

Visiting the host family
Once you are welcomed into the house, adhere to the family rules. Be aware that you are a family member and thus should actively help other members. You are supposed to pay your own expenses and telephone charges when you go out with the family. Take care not to cause the family any trouble. Observe the home stay schedule and leave the host family on the predetermined date. If you wish to revisit the family, call them beforehand to ask if it is possible.

It is desirable to keep in touch with them to maintain friendly relations.
