Здравствуйте!
Hello, everyone! I am Irina Shkurina, the Coordinator for International Relations that arrived this year, 2008. I am from Sapporo’s Sister City of Novosibirsk in Russia.
In 2001, I entered Novosibirsk State University and began my study of Japanese. In the summer of 2003, I came to Sapporo for the first time through the Sapporo International Plaza’s “Northeast Asian and US Relations Intensive Study Program”. During a stay of two weeks, I grew to love Sapporo. In 2006, I graduated and spent two years working at the Siberia-Hokkaido Cultural Center as an expert on Japanese language and culture.
As a Coordinator for International Relations, I hope to introduce everyone to Russia and Novosibirsk’s culture as much as possible. And of course, I hope to introduce Japan to the citizens of Novosibirsk and of Russia. I will study hard in order to make that happen!
If anyone ever has anything they would like to know about Russia or Novosibirsk, please just ask! I would love to answer any question!
I love Novosibirsk, and I love Sapporo too, and since coming to Sapporo I have made it my goal to strengthen the ties of friendship between our sister cities. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you!
